Hmm...can't say I'm a huge fan of megachurches. Something about them seems very strange. Sometimes I wonder if there is any real sense of community...or if it's just "cool."
But something that the pastor said in the video I found to be very interesting... He said something about how churches aren't meant to be "one size fits all." Different size churches can serve different purposes. This could be true. I guess if they're following the Bible and being true to His Word...who am I to judge? Just don't expect me to be joining one of these huge churches any time soon....even if they are cool!
MegaChurch always sounded like some kind of killer robot to me. Almost as if it had to face Godzilla to gain status. "BEWARE THE MEGACHURCH"
I agree w/ kristel. Different church sizes for different people. It really is not a one size fits all mix. Let's stick with the Bible and move forward.
Those mega churches for sure had its beginnings as a small church. I am sure that their growth was not overnight. My question would be: "What are they doing right that they have "harvested" so much souls into the Kingdom? I firmly believe that when GOD is truly the center of the church's ministry(starting with the church leadership in complete submission to His will), then growth will always be the result. Because as John 12:32 says, when He is lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself." When God is glorified in the church, then it is His Holy Spirit who will draw people to that church.
